Tables And Chairs

Hi All,

Was thinking out of the square today and thought what theme could I write for this post.
I usually write about what i see around and take pictures off.
So today I will do exactly the same lol...

I like to take pictures of cafes or restaurants but I dont feel comfortable if people
are having a coffee or a munch on they're food.
I tend to think its an invasion of privacy to a certain extent. Besides I cant run so fast
so I don't tempt fate lol.

The first picture I have is in colour and it is an outdoor cafe in Supetar on the Island Brac in Croatia.
Oops all pics today from the island.

Its a nice setting but for me it tended to lack something. I'm not sure if the angle
or the colour but i thought I would try something else.
I took another shot also in colour but it still didn't tickle my fancy so when I processed
I converted to black and white.

I liked this one a bit more but maybe you might disagree as we all have different ideas as to what works or not.

I then went scouting for something else to shoot when I come across this restaurant.
It had classic red and white table cloth and nicely set out I thought.

I took the pic to highlight the bottles and to also run the tables in a diagonal line from right to

left in the frame. I was lucky in the sense no one was having a meal and could frame how I wanted.
The colour version of the picture didn't quite do it for me so I reprocessed in black and white.
I think it turned out to be a very contrasty but nice pic in the end.

Thank you for taking the time to read. If you have any comments good or bad
leave down below as would love to know what you all think.

Afternoon In Supetar

Hi All,

One of the things that I like to do as we all do I guess is walk around
with camera in hand and take photos of things we see or friends and
family.

I was on the island of Brac in Croatia and taking random pics in Supetar
which is the main Village on the Island. The first pic I loved the clouds
and also the way the light and Shadow was formulating and changing.
As per usual lazy me, didn't take a tripod with me so is hand held.

The light was changing fast so the hills in the background was lit up
where before the Village of Supetar was lit. I waited for a little while for the
light to change again but it got overcast and so that was that lol.

The second pick I liked coz a Father taking his kids for a little boat ride.
It happens quite a lot of course being an island. The light was harsh but I
decided to make this image black and white because of the harsh contrast.

I loved the clouds here as well so I think I got a nice storytelling image.
These pictures were taken in 2014 and I always try to leave editing for a while
so can get a more objective opinion if pic is any good.
Like all people its hard to judge what to keep or delete but its a learning process.

Thank you for taking the time to look and read. If you have any comments please
please leave in section down below.

Sunrise Worth The Wait

Hi All,

Welcome to My Photographic Observations.

This is the fourth in the series of sunrise shots I took one morning
in December 2013.

Of all the previous three photos posted I liked this one the most
as the richness of the orange and for me I liked the composition also.
At least in my opinion lol,,,

As you will see the sun was just making an appearance over the horizon
and I loved the smoothness of the water and of course the reflections
of the clouds in the water.
This was the first shot of the series and the best for me because of those reasons.

I also liked the way the clouds were leading the eye to the building .
The building is the back of the Raffles Hotel and it is an apartment complex.

The Raffles is also a Art Deco building which I haven't taken a photo of yet
but hope to do so one of these days.
I used my tripod for this shot as no way could I have had the ISO down low
enough to get a good sharp picture.

Thank you for taking the time to look and read My Photographic Observations.
If you have any comments good or bad leave down below as all welcome...
